General Information

In Honduras, the Entity responsible for maintaining a public register of trademarks is the Direction General of Intellectual Property (DIGEPIH) as a unit within the Trade and Industry Ministry, which develops administrative activity for the State of Honduras Intellectual Property.

It should be taken into account that trademark applications in Honduras will be limited to one class per application for protecting goods or services as described in Classification of Goods of Nice.

The legislation ruling Industrial Property matters in Honduras is Decree Law no.: 12-99-E of 1999.

The Certificate of Registration issued by the competent authorities after approval of a trademark application in Honduras, is valid only within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Honduras.
